Florida Health Insurance For Children

Yes, we do have child-only health insurance plans for Florida.

Recently, due to certain provisions in the new healthcare bill, child-only health insurance plans in Florida were pulled by all major carriers. This is one of the many unfortunate byproducts of this bill.

However, we have a few "A" rated companies that will write children 30 days old and up. A parent does not have to be on the plan.

All of these plans are major medical coverage. This is real health insurance and typically satisfies the requirements for court-ordered health insurance.

Although, these are shown as Florida child-only health insurance plans, they are available in many other states. Call us for details.

Keep in mind that if a parent is not going to be on a plan with the child, this type of health insurance (short term) is the only health insurance currently available. Major companies like United, Aetna, etc. will no longer sell child-only health insurance. What I am trying to say is - this is it, there are no alternatives.

Our Florida Child-Only Health Insurance Plan Details - This plans is for children 2 years of age or older

The plan for children over 2 is good for up to 12 months and can be renewed for another 12 months with a one day lapse. We can even provide coverage for the lapse so your child will always have coverage.

	Up to $2,000,000 Lifetime Maximum per Covered Person
	Choice of Coverage Periods of up to 6 or 12 months (12 month option is not available in all states)
	Doctors Office and Urgent Care Center Visits - $50 Co-pay (Unlimited Visits)
	Choice of deductibles - $250, $500, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, $7,500
	Coinsurance options of 80% or 50% up to either $5,000 or $10,000
	Freedom to choose any doctor or hospital
	Child Only Coverage available - minimum age two years old
	Foreign Travel (medical care while in a foreign country) covered up to $25,000 (After a $250 benefit deductible)
	Choose to pay premiums two convenient ways, in a single up front payment for 30 to 180 days, or pay by convenient monthly installments

Optional Benefits - Extra Care Package (completely optional but be sure to uncheck it when you sign up if you do not want it):

If you sign up for the plan you will see an option on the payment page for the Extra Care Package. This package has some very interesting and useful benefits as follows:

CallMD - You can speak with a physician at any time on the phone for a consultation. In most states, the physician can even call in a prescription for you to your local pharmacy. I am sure you will immediately realize what a cost savings this can be.

Dental Services - This is the Careington Dental Discount plan.

Lab Services - This is a discount program from Direct Labs. They seem to be available throughout the United States and will give you a substantial discount on all lab tests.

24 Hour Nurseline - You can talk to a nurse at any time.

Our Florida Child-Only Health Insurance Plan Details - This plans is for children 30 days or older

If you want to insure a child that is under 2, you must use this second plan. It is very similar to our other plan with just a few differences.

	Up to $2,000,000 Lifetime Maximum per Covered Person
	Coverage Period is 6 months (it can be renewed)
	All expenses go towards the deductible. However, there is a PPO network (FirstHealth) and you are entitled to the discounted PPO rates.
	Choice of deductibles - $$1,000, $2,500, $3,500, $5,000
	Coinsurance options of 100%, 80% or 50% up to $2,000
	Freedom to choose any doctor or hospital or use FirstHealth PPO network for savings.
	Child Only Coverage available - minimum age 30 days old
	Approximately 20% discount for up front payments.

We have a direct web sites where you can get online quotes for either plan. If you wish, you can then continue to sign up online. The turnaround is usually one day. It is a very simple form with limited questions.

With either plan, you can stop them any time you want. Their is no contractual obligation. You are paying month to month.

Getting Quotes

The child is the applicant. If there is more than one child, put the older child as the applicant and then use the box that says Number of Dependent Children for the others. If there are 2 children for example, the oldest child is the applicant and under Number of Dependent Children it says "1".

Accident Plan to Enhance Coverage

If you wish, you can add a separate accident plan.

When signing up for the health insurance you will see a screen that asks you if you want the optional accident insurance. To be candid, we have a plan that is cheaper and better and will cover the entire family.

This plan will pay out up to $10,000 for an emergency room or for an accident or injury with a $100 deductible. It covers everyone in the family. It is not a child only plan.
