Group Health Insurance for Groups as Small as Two Employees We no longer offer PEO plans in the state of Florida. Companies that offer PEO plans are looking for larger groups, Generally 10 or more. We find that PEO plans can sometimes lower your workman's comp insurance. But, they are going to be charging you to do a payroll. The health insurance rates were not that great anymore. By 2014, the whole notion of a PEO might not make sense. If you need a group plan for 2 or 3 employees you have a problem. First of all, many carriers will not write a group of that size. If they do, the rates seem artifically high. It is their way of telling you they do not want your business. If you absolutely must have a group for less than 4 employees, we will write it AFTER you have put in place insurance for both disability and dental insurance. These are not expensive items. If you cancel the disability and dental after you purchase the health insurance, as one of my clients did, I will not renew the insurance at the end of the year. I think that you should understand why. As an agent, a group takes up a lot more time than an individual plan. For all practical purposes, the compensation I receive from a small group would not even buy your family lunch at McDonalds. Again, by not paying me, the insurance carrier is looking to discourage me from writing small groups. They do not want small group business.y. PEO
Plans - What are they? You still work for your own company and outwardly nothing changes. However, since the PEO is your co-employer, you are entitled to participate in their benefit plans. This includes health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, a 401K plan, etc. All of the benefits are optional and you can pick and choose which benefits you want.
